Câmara de Comércio Brasil-Havaí

 The Chamber was created in July 2012 and has created many opportunities for business, culture and sports involving the Brazilian and Hawaiian communities, educating and promoting development by addressing the concerns of the Brazilian Hawaiian Communities.

The Brazil- Hawaii Chamber of Commerce decided that promotion of trade and goodwill between Brazil and Hawaii would be its primary mission; realizing that a broader membership base would strengthen the Brazilian’s presence in the local community. The Chamber of Commerce seeks to integrate the dynamic areas of business and economic development, international relations and government affairs. 

The Chamber facilitates business to business contacts among its members through meetings, functions, and activities, which offer a high volume of interaction with prominent business professionals from all sectors of trade and industry. Members will have numerous opportunities to network and share information with other members and business leaders.  

Contatos Internacionais:The Chamber’s focus on business and economic development in the Pacific Basin involves close relationships with international companies with particular emphasis on Brazil-Hawaii ties. 

Indicações de negócios:the Chamber directs inquiries to members from companies and individuals seeking products and services. 

Voz no Governo: Working closely with other organizations, the Chamber actively evaluates issues affecting business and membership concerns.  Members will have the opportunity to help determine the Chamber’s position on key business issues. Breakfast, lunch, and evening forums and seminars are conducted to allow members to establish informal relationships with our City, State, and national leaders in government.

Seminários de negócios e sessões de treinamento: Various business seminars are scheduled throughout the year.  Current topics in business-economic development, solutions and resources for small-businesses, government affairs and legislative issues, doing business in Brazil. 

Brazilian business opportunities for the 2014 World Football Championship and 2016 Olympic Games; professional investments tips are a few examples of the kinds of seminars the Chamber hosts. 

Desenvolvimento Profissional:Through active participation on committees, members will have opportunities to improve their communication skills, develop planning and organizational skills, and receive leadership coaching from senior executives.  In addition, members will be exposed and immersed in strategic planning, visioning and critical thinking situations.

Professional Enhancement :Members will gain knowledge and “know-how” from CEOs, entrepreneurs, founders of businesses, public sector leaders and other professionals.  Members can expand their knowledge in best-practices, budget and finance, general business, human resources, information technology, management, marketing, and other current trends and issues in business, which will propel them to be better-informed professionals.

Fellowship and Networking: Participate in the Chamber’s annual events: Generational Awards (Installation) Banquet “Commitment to Excellence” art exhibition September 7 Independence Day Celebrations ‘’ Brazilian Day” and other mixers and events.  Additional opportunities to network include Brazilian Parties like Carnival Honolulu, Samba Shows, Jiu-Jitsu, Capoeira, Surf, marathons, Iron Mem, and other sports events.

Business Promotion:Take advantage of the Chamber’s various marketing mediums which promote individual companies through timely news articles, and company branding at reasonably priced advertising rates, and sponsorship opportunities.  Advertising and advertorial opportunities are available at BCCHI monthly newsletter and on its website.  

Benefícios de redução de custos: Membership dues may be deducted as a business expense, but not as a charitable deduction for federal income tax purposes. Members also receive various discounts from selected retailers, products and services.

Purpose Of The Chamber

The Brazil-Hawaii Chamber of Commerce is organized to achieve the objectives of:

Preserving the competitive enterprise system of business by creating a better understanding and appreciation of the importance of businesspeople and a concern for their problems; educating the business community and representing them in city, county, state, and national legislative and political affairs; preventing or addressing controversies that are detrimental to the expansion and growth of business in the community if they arise; creating a greater appreciation of the value of a more liberal investment of substance and self on behalf of the interests of competitive business.
Promoting business and community growth and development by promoting economic programs designed to strengthen and expand the income potential of all businesses within the trade area; promoting programs of a civic, social, and cultural nature that are designed to increase the functional and aesthetic values of the community; and discovering and correcting abuses that prevent the promotion of business expansion and community growth.
